Things floating right in front of your eyes….

09 Apr 2020

Dear LPG,

I noted the article that you posted about tinnitus (►►►), how annoying it can be and, at its worst, how debilitating it can be, but there is something equally as annoying that happens with eyes.  Lots of people have them and have had them so long that they have just become part of what they see all the time.  I am talking about what are called eye floaters; those little shapes and spots that seem to swim around in front of whatever you are looking at.

I don’t think that you have to be old to have this little problem and for many it’s not something that they really feel that they suffer from.  They are just there.

Mine are old friends they have been there so long that I don’t ever notice them most of the time but, for some reason, seeing the post on annoying things that some people hear got me thinking about the potentially annoying things that quite a lot of people see.

I have learned from reading so many of the articles on the LPG website that asking Google is, as always, the way to go and I found quite a lot of information about how to tell the annoying ones from the ones that could be warning indicators of other health problems.  There was also an interesting study done recently which indicates that pineapple can be the answer, although another thing those innocent fruit have an abundance of is sugar, and it is to be remembered that one of the most common ailments that we elders experience is type 2 diabetes.

So, when looking at the balancing act that health offers as we get older, don’t overdo it…
