Catford: Have A Say

21 Jul 2017

Lewisham Council has planned to regenerate Catford town Centre. Some of the changes in the area are these:

- The redevelopment of Catford Shopping Centre to create new retail space
- The demolition of Milford Towers and the provision of new homes across the town center
- Major infrastructure work to the road network (which is mostly owned by Transport for London) which would create a more joined up town center and could also free up additional space for development
- New community facilities, pedestrianised areas and open spaces
- A possible re-location of Council services which would provide further development space on the existing sites

However, this plan is not definitive. The final plan will be designed in 2017 and 2018 and they want to listen to the views of people who live and work here.  As pensioners, we need to have a say. We have to let them know what we think that is good for the area and what we think that is not. They are already consulting people. This link will take you to a website that shows a map with some of the ideas that Catford neighbors have already submitted: https://catfordtowncentre.commonplace.is/ Do you think that a certain road needs more lighting? Would you like to see them make a street safer for cyclists? Just let them know about your views and concerns. Your voice can help make Catford a better place.
