Positive Ageing Council, Where Your Voice Can Be Heard

04 Nov 2017

Lewisham Council wants your voice to be heard, and that's why The Positive Ageing Council was established in 2011. The aim of this group is to provide a space where the elderly can share views and ideas, meet new people and join in with social activities.

Anyone who is 60 or older and lives, works, learns or volunteers in Lewisham borough can become a member. The membership is free, and all members are sent a free newsletter that contains a summary of the meetings and useful up-to-date information about activities and volunteering opportunities for older people.

The meetings are held in the Council Chambers at the Civic Suite, Catford, and consist of informal discussions on local topics and guest speakers. You don't need to be a member to attend the meetings.

If you want to become a member, you have to contact the Positive Ageing Council Coordinator (email: [email protected], telephone number: 020 8314 6314) or attend one of the meetings. If you want to check when the next meeting is going to take place, follow this link: https://www.lewisham.gov.uk/getinvolved/positive-ageing-council/Pages/default.aspx on this website you will also find more information about The Positive Ageing Council and a downloadable version of the newsletter.
