Egg, milk and flour power…

21 Feb 2023

Dear LPG readers,

I was browsing the internet when I found the website that I want LPG to share with you and I have asked them if it is possible to do it today when pancakes will be at the forefront of the National menu-choice.  They are topical, especially today, quite easy to make and not that bad for you in theory, though what you choose to fill them with might change the essence of that statement.

I think that when we older people think back to childhood, they came with lemon and a bit of sugar, but over the years that theory has seriously changed.  The fillings have become more and more unusual and now the trend is to add the extra ingredients to the mix before the batter hits the pan.

I took a look at the suggestions that have been offered by LPG contributors over previous years and, there have been some inventive concoctions but I feel this website which offers   gingerbread, mac and cheese, Japanese Pancakes with Sticky Pork and even a beef Berger inspired pancake, should be shared today.

There is nothing as special as a pancake on pancake day and I think that if you are able to make one or two for yourself, at least one pancake inspired meal might just help when it comes to finding a food idea that makes a change.  And making one for anyone that you know, including a friend that might be coming over for brunch or, one of the grandchildren that might be visiting later, will help both the young and old to be impressed with your hosting skills if you are able to produce one of the more unusual offerings…
