Making next week’s special day count…

07 Feb 2023

Dear LPG,

You can call me an old romantic but it would be more accurate to call me one of those ladies that gets forgotten at this time every year.  So my post today is designed to help our other halves to realise that we, the readers of this particular website, are getting on but not over the hill when it comes to the odd romantic gesture.

I usually get a valentine’s card and send it to myself but these days my other half doesn’t even get a bit jealous, if he bothers to notice my fake look of surprise when I open it each 14th February.

Like many older couples out there, I know that I am half of a partnership which is half way over the hill and, at my time of life, no one else would have me but I also know that so many of us forget that we need to remember that we are more than a couple of best friends or long suffering spouses that have got so used to each other that we have so often forgotten why we got together in the first place.

So, with a week to go I hope that you will at least remember to get your significant other a card this year and perhaps I might have found a few other online ideas that might just make a difference to this year’s version of your celebration.  Everything on the internet seems to be geared towards younger people but, we are just slightly older versions of them and so, if LPG has managed to post my message when I asked, readers should have about a week to check out some of the ideas I have found and make this year a bit different to the ones when we so often forget…
