Minimising that misty eyed moment and sticking to it….

08 Feb 2022

Dear LPG,

I know that, by now, we should all know the best masks for our faces.  After all, we have had a couple of years to experiment, but I still have problems with them and now, just when we thought they were on the way out, it looks as if, even now that the choice is ours to a greater extent these days , they are back and will be with us for a decent part of 2022.

At lease we are beginning to leave our houses again although even that is not made easy.  Winter is with us again whichand that  comes with the problems caused when you we step out of the come out of the cold  street and into nice warm shopstreet.  We older people tend to need our glasses perhaps a little more than most youngsters and when they steam up, we find ourselves so blind that we cannot see anything for the mist that we generate every time we breathe out.  The alternative is to take them off but if you are as myopic as me, without them you may as well not bother to look at anything.

With this in mind I decided to take another look at what the internet has to say about a problem which has become generic over the past couple of years and looks as if it will continue to be so for a while yet.

I know many that have decided that there is nothing to be done but, just in case any LPG readers have missed these suggestions, I thought I would pass them on again.

One thing that the internet has taught me is that if your glasses are getting misted every time you walk into a shop, the germs you are trying to keep in your mask are escaping and that defeats the whole object of the thing.
