Pay your heart a little online attention…

29 Sep 2022

Dear LPG,

I wonder if anyone else has that habit where you pick up your tablet or turn on your lap top to google one thing, and that leads to another and another….  I had my tablet on one day recently and I found myself on a web page that really caught my notice.

I am writing this just after Christmas 2021 and, in these days where the latest news is that there are not enough medical staff to go around because of the effects of this pandemic which we are still in the middle of, so many of us are so caught up in worrying about if we have got that particular medical problem going on that many of us are not paying attention to the possibility of other health issues that may have started to affect us.

A web site about heart health is where I found myself.

I am not trying to be the bringer of bad news but there are so many other things that can happen to us without ourt even having any symptoms and as we get older they have a habit of creeping up when we least expect them.

We all know that heart attacks are more likely to affect us older people and we are also told that problems can be starting even though there are no warning symptoms.  I found some websites which offer an online calculator which might help you to work out if you have anything to worry about and thought that it might be a good idea to share them today.  I am not saying that we all need to worry, or that these online tests are fool proof, but having a go cannot be a bad thing.

In these days, when getting to the doctors is not that easy to do, it might be easy to ignore some of the symptoms that would have ordinarily provoked a visit, and we need to be concerned about other illnesses as well as Covid-19 no matter however many variants are sent to try us…

Perhaps by paying your heart a little virtual attention you will be able to work out if it needs a reality check ….
