Dear LPG,

I really wanted to ensure that LPG dedicates one day to acknowledging Black History Month. 

When I see stories of what is still happening in the world of today; the cruel way that social media and the internet can still impact society with a racially prejudicial backdrop, it saddens me, but when we older people who immigrated and comprised the first generation of Black Brittan’s arrived, I hope that most of us can say that, while it was not all good, life was not all bad either.

Not all black history is about negativity as I discovered.  I found some information about just a few black Britain’s who have made their own personal contributions to the history books and I hope that a quick read of their stories will be one way to celebrate this year’s Black History Month.
