In preparation for a good laugh…

16 Aug 2020

Dear LPG,

I am not sure if readers are aware.  Today is National Tell a Joke Day and, Lord knows we could do with some fun in our lives after what we have all been through this year.

The fear is that after what we have been through we are fresh out of jokes so I thought I would throw a couple in the mix…

Firstly, the cooks among LPG readers may not have heard about the new birthday cake recipe that is now available in the supermarkets. It contains curry and baked beans and cooks quite quickly.  It tastes awful but it blows its own candles out!

Readers might also like to know the answer to the question; ‘What do you get if you cross the ocean with the titanic?’ … ‘about half way!’

That is the best I can do for now but, to make sure that every reader is armed with something that will make your friend laugh, I have found a few more and asked LPG to post them today for you to take a quick look at in preparation for forthcoming social activities.

I am sure that readers can tell that I have written this message a little in advance (about three months in reality).  So, as I put pen to paper to prepare my post, it is mid May 2020 and we are all still stuck at home.

I hope that that is all over now and the world is getting back to some form of normality but, whether you tell them on the phone because we are still locked-down or we are able to tell them face to face, after all we have been through I suggest that we capitalise on this celebration, especially this year…
