In spite of everything, let’s try to celebrate today…

03 May 2020

Dear LPG,

After months of lock-down, bad news, and virtual and literal solitary confinement for so many people no matter which part of the world we live in, I would like to remind people that there will be a need to try to get back to ‘normal’ sometime soon.

I have to say thank God for the telephone and the many electronic communication methods that have kept us in touch, and the reminders that the media have given us about using them to their full advantage while we were locked away in our homes.   I have many friends who have kept in touch with me during the past weeks, and though in mid-March when it became apparent just how much we were to be affected by the threat of coronavirus, we all worked hard on keeping each other’s spirits up during those telephone conversations, but it was not long before being positive became harder.

After all this time we should be used to how things are and I hope that spirits are being raised again in spite of all that has happened, and with that thought in mind I would like to remind readers that today is World laughter day.

I remember reading an article about the importance of laughter on LPG’s pages last year and would suggest that this might be the day to repeat it.

WF, Lewisham.

LPG believes that WF was referring to PS’s thoughts on the subject which we posted…
