Always room for a little online calculation…

09 Oct 2018

Dear LPG

I have to start this little post by telling readers that I have to blame Google for making me the way I am.  I do not know a lot about computers, but the one thing I have learned is how to use them to take a look at some of the most unusual information in the world (wide web).  I don’t know about other online browsers,  but I can spend hours drifting from one website to the next learning about all sorts of things.

I would not bore readers with most of what I find, but this is interesting…

When I saw this tag-line I got thinking…

I know that I am not the poorest pensioner that I know, but I am not particularly rich either.  So when I came across the site that I am going to ask LPG to link you to, I could not help but have a go.

There are all sorts of calculators online; simple math calculators, imperial to metric calculators, currency conversion calculators, gas oven marks to electric cooker temperature calculators, and reading an LPG post educated me about BMI calculators (►►►).

But I never knew that there were online calculators for this one.  I have found that Age UK have produced an online calculator to help work out if you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to.  It is a rough guide, but I tried this and worked out that I may well have found something that I have missed so far.

So I thought that I should share this just in case it helps.

LPG found a couple of other calculators and we have added them because, in the same way as one gets three estimates before committing to any work that they need to have done, we think that checking out your opportunities three times will give a more accurate idea of your options.  Please remember that these calculators give a very rough guide to the facts.
