Passing it on.

11 Jul 2018

Dear LPG

There are lots of things that one person can pass on to another, including an attack of ‘flu, but something I saw on the internet got me to thinking and I would like to share what I learnt from watching.

I think that every now and then we older people get a little depressed.  I am now 86 and relatively fit for my age, but occasionally I suffer from bouts of negativity.   I will start to think that there is nothing else left for me to look forward to.  I have a feeling that I am not the only one, so I would like to ask you to allow me to share a link to a bit of film that I found on the internet.   It is a ‘You Tube’ offering which shows three centenarians sharing their life lessons.

When my mind-set is focussing on the negative, watching these three very wise people helps to remind me that, if statistics are right, there is no reason why many of your readers who are of a similar age to myself, including me, could still well be around in 15 years.  As we get closer to that prospect,  we will be the ones that those who are now getting to their 7th decade will be looking to for the benefit of our experience and positivity.

So all I can say is let’s make sure we remember to stay focussed and gather all the new experiences that we can, so that we, when the time comes, will have as many experiences and gems of wisdom to pass on as possible, and that we are ready for the challenge of passing it on.
