Paying Homage to My Favourite Actor and Giving Away My Age?

02 Jul 2018

Dear LPG,

I read somewhere lately that one’s favourite things and preferences can give people clues about your age and I want to test the theory.

I want to get readers who are of a certain age to see if they can remember my all-time favourite actor.  For me it has to be Burt Lancaster.  I know that even the youngsters who read the site will have heard the name but, what an actor!

In my opinion he had all the gifts needed to be a great actor with his ability to do so many stunts himself as the circus performer in him allowed him to shine in the film Trapeze (I think my all-time favourite), and there was never any doubt that he drew on his military experiences to produce performances in many of his film roles

It was never going to happen but he would have been 105 now if he were still alive. But people of our era are lucky enough to still be able to see the old movies and I, for one, watch and get transported right back to the days when he was the biggest box office draw and I was a lot younger.

What does that say about my age? I will leave you guessing.

LPG found some information about this actor and one of his films is accessible if you have the time to appreciate and relive his acting prowess again…
