Support for legs and plants

09 Aug 2017

Dear LPG

Like many, I spend much of my time in my garden and the English summer never ceases to amaze me.

This year, with its bouts of intense sunshine followed by concentrated rain, has had some dramatic effects on some of the plants in my garden; many of which have grown bigger and heavier than in other years.  I have seen many varieties of plant ties in the shops, designed to help by allowing these plants to be tied to fences and walls so that they have the support they need as they get bigger and heavier, but I have found that that job can be done just as well with hosiery.  Using bits of tights and pop socks reduces my rubbish pile and they work very well because the material they are made of is particularly durable and they blend with most plants and save a bit of money.
