The Answer should always be ‘Why’.

Dear LPG,

 

Sometimes I think that the problem is not as prominent as it was a couple of years ago, but yesterday I was targeted three times by sales calls.  Typically, the phone rings and you stop what you are doing and say ‘Hello!’ only to find that the person on the other end of the conversation is asking if you would like to answer a few household questions, which won’t take long.

 

This is the point where you should start asking the question ‘Why?’ and insist on their answer, no matter how much they try to get back to the script they have and whatever they ask you.  Answer their question with the question ‘Why?’

 

I never have to ask more than three times before they hang up.   It works a treat.
