You don’t know what you are missing!

23 Sep 2017

Dear LPG,

On Saturday September 15th I attended a Health and Wellbeing event, which took place at the Green Man building in the Bromley Road, and which was hosted by an organisation called 60UP (►►►).  I was in two minds about attending and not sure what to expect, but there were so many really interesting things to see and learn while I was there that I wanted to share my news with my fellow readers.

I learned some very important news about new ways of booking a GP appointment if it has become difficult to see your own GP.  I was able to have my blood pressure and weight checked by a lady who also gave me some really good advice about how to improve my eating habits.  There was a facial demonstration, line dancing, crafts were being showcased with the opportunity to try your hand, and there was a really interesting and healthy ways of eating demonstrated together with a very green snack which, I was truly surprised by when I tried it.

It is often said that older people tend to stay at home because there is not a lot to do in our borough, but having made the effort to visit this fair I will be looking out for the day on next year’s events and suggest that, if it was half as good next year, we should all put it in our diaries.

LD, Catford.

LPG also attended the event and can promise that some of the organisations who gave their time on that day will be posting more information about the services that they offer on our site in the near future.
